East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company

Your home and property is protected from fire through the dedicated servies of East Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company.  In addition to serving our township, the also service surrounding municipalities, through the use of mutual aid agreements.  The Fire Company is dependent on a .4 mill tax from the Township as well as an annual fund drive and weekly bingo.  They also sponsor a taco stand at the Palmerton Community Festival.  This year the Fire Company is searching for new members, they are in desperate need for volunteers. 

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission consists of five members and reviews all Subdivision and Land Development plans that are presented to the Board of Supervisors.  They serve four year terms.  The 2004 Planning Commission members are as follows:  Rodger Diehl, Deanna Cunfer, Jay Kline, Victor Geiger, and Brian Eickhoff.  Planning Commission meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Social Hall at 7:30 PM.  Deadline for submission of documents is the 1st Monday of month.

Zoning Hearing Board

The Zoning Hearing Board consists of 3 members and 2 alternates for a term of three years.  The 2004 Zoning Hearing Board members are:  Dan Valois, Gordon Scherer, Christopher Slaw and alternates are Duane Schleicher and Nancy Blaha.  Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Social Hall at 7:00 PM
