Manheim Modified
1983 Pontiac Bonneville Wagon Sleeper Project

After looking awhile for a Chevrolet Malibu sleeper chassis, I ran into this Pontiac on good old ebay and purchased in July of 2005 for $1595.00. Vehicle had 43,684 miles on. Had to pick it up in Howell, NJ, thanks for the car dolly Frank!

The ad read,
"This vehicle was purchased from the original owner in October 2001. At that time there was 24,344 miles and was garage kept for seventeen year. The interior was completely original  and near perfect, and still has the original GM rubber floor mats. The exterior is dent free and the wood decal is in excellent condition. The problem with this car is there is a noise in the engine. It is drivable and when it is in gear the noise seems to go away. It also has a code from the computer for a lean mixture, it may need an oxygen sensor. This would be a great car to restore since it is almost perfect now, or re-power with a small block for a nice street rod or tow vehicle. This vehicle is based on a rear wheel drive Chevrolet Malibu wagon platform."

I found the motor donor vehicle on ebay also. A 1972 Pontiac Catalina with only 65,00 original miles, located within an hour from my place. Thanks to Frank again for the use of his car dolly. Transmission was a turbo 400 that had just been gone over. I purchased the car for $800, pulled the motor and transmission and parted out the rest. I also kept the power steering pump, steering wheel, and master cylinder for the 52 Chevy I'm working on. I pulled the front springs hoping I could use them on the wagon.
