• Co D was raised at Northampton County

Cpl John R. Sterling came from Colerane, North Ireland in 1848. He served in the 34th and the 186th PA Vols.  After the war, John became cemetery sexton in Mauch Chunk PA and died in 1874 of cancer.  This information is from his great grandson.
