The Fife Brook (Zoar Gap) and Monroe Bridge (Dryway) sections of the Deerfield are located in north/west Massachusetts.

    River Description

    The Monroe Bridge section is rated Class IV, and the Fife Brook (Zoar Gap) section is rated Class II. The AMC Boston Chapter runs trips to the Deerfield. Some information about the area is on the AWA's Deerfield River Festival page. Zoar Outdoors have an excellent web system with a good river description and release schedule.
