Story #2 - Pool Session
For some people, not as easy as it sounds. Way back, we were teaching
a newbie friend how to roll at a Rutgers pool session. He was doing pretty good,
but still iffy. At the end of one session he was getting pretty tired,
decided to do one more. After several unsuccessful tries two of us who
were instructing
noticed a sudden cessation of activity. After looking at each other
for a couple seconds, we jumped in and pulled him upright.
It seems after not being able to roll up after a bunch of attempts, he
gave up and decided he was going to drown right there in the pool.
After this whenever we start to teach someone to roll, we
first make sure that the concept of a wet exit is very clear to them.
