I wish I were a lion, not a little mouse
I would rule the garden by my little house
If I were a lion, not a little mouse
I would rent a castle for my loving spouse

I wish I were a lion, not a little mouse
I would toss my mane and loose each little louse
If I were a lion, not a little mouse
I would douse the cat and then the cat I’d douse

Oh! To roar with lion pride
Nevermore be meek
Oh! To roar a lion’s roar
Flexing my physique

I wish I were a lion, not a little mouse
My cape would be of ermine; and silk would be my blouse
If were a lion, not a little mouse
I would be so regal, I would hardly grouse

I wish I were a lion, not a little mouse
Leonine my sobriquet, never more a souse
Oh, if I were a lion, not a little mouse
I would be so daring, I might even leave the house

Oh! To roar with lion pride
Nevermore be meek
Oh! To roar a lion’s roar... Roar!
As around my door I'd peek
