Television
Click— I am television.
Click— I have countless channels— some more receptive than others.
Click— I am always on— all the time.
Click— I am comedy— drama— sports— weather— News at 11 on the hour every hour.
Click— I am sex— violence— commercialism— personified, glorified and vilified.
Click— I am on-demand and pay-per-view.
Click— I am TV. I entertain for hours and hours and on second thought
Click— I am a couch potato with my own talk show

Lamp
You are my lamp— shaded— yet— for me— you turn yourself on.
You are my lamp— bright— electrified.
You are my lamp— my eyes— my stars.
You are my spark— my lightning— my sol in the night.
You are my lamp— my magical lamp— my glimmering glowworm.
You must be warm— oh— so warm— so very— very warm.
Your torch teases my terror.
You are my lamp— my lighthouse— my beacon o’er the sea.
Your radiance singes my brow— and I— I am fixed on your beam.
