This page began in 1997 as a project for an on-line web page design class that I took through ZDU Net.
My name is Dominick Buscemi.
I am a Driver License Examiner for PennDOT in Easton, Pa.
I am also the organizer for The Lehigh Valley Healthcare Reform Meetup Group. If you think that our current health care system is in need of an overhaul click on the link or the logo to the left to check us out. We're always looking for new ideas.
Before being elected to that position in 1997, I worked as a driver for Preston Trucking Company. Many people refer to Preston as "The 151 Line" because of the distinctive logo on the side of the trucks. I was often asked, "just what does 'The 151 Line' mean?". It originally read "151 Trucks", because when the founder of the company, A.T. Blades, an accountant in Preston, Md. acquired his 151st piece of equipment, he proudly had the number displayed on his trailers. He began the company is the 1930's with just two trucks to haul canned goods to Baltimore, Md. and New York City. Unfortunately, Preston went out of business in 1998. Click here for picture
Before going to work for Preston, I was in the U.S. Marine Corps. I served in Vietnam in 1967-1968. (Third Battalion, Fourth Marine Regiment). Click here to view some personal photos of Vietnam.
The title of the Web page, Road Rhymes and Interstate Inspirations, comes from a notebook of poems that I compiled during the 1970's and 80's when I was an over-the-road driver for Preston. I'll be sharing some of them with you. Just Passin` Thru is the first poem in the notebook.
Proud Recipient of the Spirit of the Road Award
