How to effectively use the LEAF Ball Website
Allow me to detail for you each of the buttons in the menu to your right, so that you understand what valuable nuggets of information are available for you.

This is the site you will want to check out for the official standings, both for the week, and for the season. Since we will be focusing on head-to-head standings on the CBSSportsline site this year, you will need to check this site regularly to see where you stand overall.

Another important site. This is where you will find your divisional standings for the head-to-head part of the league. There are three four-team divisions, and each division champion makes the playoffs, as well as one wild card team. The champion carts off 15 percent of the pot, with the runner-up taking 10 percent. Not too shabby. To find out who your team is scheduled to play each week, this is also the place to find out. This information will be tallied on the CBS Sportsline site now, so this site will mainly be for archiving purposes, or if you are having trouble getting on the CBS site.
Most
of this information will be updated on the RTS Sports Fantasy
Website, but we also try to keep this one updated from time to time,
and will help figure out who your keepers can be the following
season.
Click
here to see how this year's draft played out. This site is valuable
if you are planning to trade for a player who might qualify as a
keeper next year. It can also be fun at mid-season to look back at
some of the picks that in hindsight seem kind of silly, or to remind
other owners of the dud they picked in the 10th round instead of the
jem you stole in the 16th round. It also links to drafts of years
gone by, in case you care.
The
player that scores the most points for his team at the end of the
season is named MVP, and that team wins five percent of the pot.
However, we are aware that the true MVP players may lay elsewhere, so
we also highlight top players at each position. This takes awhile to
compile, so if you don't mind, please check it often so I don't feel
like I'm wasting my time.
This
is where you can find out who dropped whom and what trades went down
in our league. With RTS Sports taking care of this function, this
site became less essential, but we will try to keep it updated, to
create a concise record of the transactions, in the event of a
question about a trade or free agent aquisition. This information
will usually pop up first on RTS.
How
much has that sweet pot blossomed? How much do you owe to the league?
Those questions can usually be answered here, so long as Commissioner
Ruth is providing the webmaster with accurate information. If you
have paid for a transaction, and it does not appear on here, remind
Todd to let me know, and I will make the necessary alteration. For
consistencies sake, I will only make changes when Todd tells me to.
There is also a link to see how much money each team member has won
since the league's inception in 1999.
You
want to make a trade offer to someone? This is where you can find the
essential contact information. It's a concise look at each of our 12
teams, their owners, team logos, addresses, phone numbers, and where
applicable, e-mail addresses. Please note that some of you have not
supplied us with a logo. Wouldn't it be fun if you did?
LEAF
Constitution
From
scoring breakdowns to regulations concerning trades, this is where
you can find a comprehensive look at the constitution that governs
the LEAF Fantasy Football League. If you have a problem with a rule,
you can present a proposal to modify it at the draft every fall, and
it must be approved by a majority of the league. If you want to
challenge an action made by another owner, your support may lie in
these hallowed words. Conflicts that cannot be solved in the rules
are referred to a Pigskin Panel, appointed by the commissioner. A
copy can also be found on the RTS Website.
We
like to share with our league owners the best information we can find
on the internet concerning football and fantasy football. It has been
updated to make sure that the websites are current. If you have a
favorite FREE football-related website you think should be added
here, please let the webmaster know and he will be happy to give it
serious consideration.
This
is a fun little site that most of the league overlooks, and in many
ways is the most important aspect of this website. It has nothing to
do with this season, but it provides a detailed look at past LEAF
Ball seasons. The best part? Check out the LEAF graveyard, ripe with
the rotting corpses of those former league members who for one reason
or another have departed from our ranks. Harry Bidelspach, we hardly
knew ye.
A
great idea that starts out strong every year, often with some good
draft analysis, then peters out by week 4. We'll see what happens
this year. It was designed as a forum for every member of the league
to write an essay about the league. Prior essays are still there, and
feel free to provide your own words of wisdom by e-mailing me a
message for the Notebook. I will make sure it gets on the site, and
that everyone knows about it. I will also be adding news items that
originally appeared on the RTS Sports site and are worth saving, so
that we have a more permanent record of those words of wisdom. By the
way, anyone in the league can add a news item, so please help
yourself if you notice that a current news item is going
stale.
These
are the potential keepers list for the 2003 season (drafted after the
5th round or selected as a free agent.) Now you can see if any jewels
were passed over.
