The
new season is upon us, as teams prepare for the 8th LEAF Ball
draft &endash; and as you can see, this website is horribly out of
date now.
Oh sure, I used to do a good job with it. But things got busy, and the website we pay for pretty much does everything we need. At some point I will clean this up, and I'd like to make it a decent, simple archive page so we can look back and remember our glory years. That's my goal this season.
For the third year, we will be using Fanball.com.
Remember to bring your $50 league fee to the draft.
We made some major rule changes, as you should now know. Please take a look at them and have a clear understanding of them when we draft. Any issues should be brought up prior to the draft.
This site is now a bit out of date. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to devote to it this year, but rest assured, the Fanball site should have all of the goodies you need. This is and always will be a great place to check the archives, walk down memory lane, and catch a few updates here and there. I'll try to make it as useful as possible and send emails when updates are made.
Some helpful items:
- A scientific analysis of the 2003 draft
The masses have spoken, and according to their peers, it was Tom and Rick who had the best LEAF draft of 2003.
- Nine of the 12 members of the league participated in this landmark event. Only Steve, Andy and Bruce opted not to take part in the poll. As a result, they each received one more vote than the people who bothered to participate. So to calculate the rankings more accurately, the total count was divided by the number of votes to reach an average score. Here are the results (11 is the highest score possible, 1 is the lowest):
- 1. Tom - 8.625 points
- 1. Rick - 8.625
- 3. Todd - 7.625
- 4. Troy - 7.000
- 4. Eric - 7.000
- 6. Dave - 6.625
- 6. Nick - 6.625
- 8. Andy - 5.833
- 9. Keith - 5.625
- 10. Brendan - 4.062
- 11. Steve - 3.000
- 12. Bruce - 2.222

You
will want to check out the 2003
Draft page, both to see who you can
possibly keep, and which players your opponents may be choosing to
keep out of the draft.
The 2003 keeper list is now updated, as is the Draft Board. And if you've never checked out the LEAF Past Players Graveyard, click here and take a stroll down memory lane!
You'll
also want to check out The
Money Tally. This is a new page that
compiles the top money winners since the league's inception in 1999.
Will it produce a little bragging? Will it make some people "targets"
this season? Check it out for yourself! Also now featured here is the
net earnings, which ranks everyone's earnings above (or below) the
amount they've invested. Did those big investments payoff? Find
out!
The
Team
Page is also updated now to include Andy
and Brendan, though I'm sure there will be some updates, changes and
new photos/logos as they become known. Also added are cool trophies
for the league's winners, past and present, since 1999. Check them
out!
By now you should know that we are using a new web system to keep our statistics. This is good news for everyone, as it will cost the league about $60 less to use, and good news to Troy, who never could figure out how to accesshis CBS Sportsline account. This one should be far less complicated. Let me know how things are looking, or if you have any problems. There's a link right to it at the top of the menu on the far right side of this page. Be sure to check out some of those other links in the menu, since they have some valuable info, and so I'm not just wasting my time on this website!
If you notice a dead link or some missing photos, please contact me in case I missed something. Thanks!
