Dagwood's Story

Dagwood, for those unfamiliar, is their feline buddy, who has been with Rick and Lisa since 1993. He was diagnosed with a serious lung infection in early 1997, and was given no chance of surviving by a specialist. Yet, with the help of their veterinarian (and Lisa's employer) Dr. Mark Pautler, they were able to treat and overcome his ailment. Today, Dagwood is a happy and healthy cat, and a testament to hope when so-called experts offer none. Every evening, Dagwood takes up residents in the basement, where he rests for several hours on the boxes that have become his own, surveying all that he commands. It is this spirit that is the reason we have named this venture "Dagwood's Basement." Note: The books are actually stored upstairs, not in the basement.
