2004 Oscar Pool
Results: In this Oscar pool's 10-year history, no one has achieved a perfect score. With obscure categories, 5 options in most of those categories, and Oscar's habit of shocking you from time-to-time, missing a perfect score by 2 points should be a lock, right? Not this year, Rick found out the hard way. His 28/30 score beat all champions from the nine previous contests, but it fell one short of Howard's record-breaking 29/30 score, earning him the title of 2004 Oscar champion. His lone misstep? Picking "City of God" for best Cinematography. I'm sure that's keeping him up late at night.
Here are the final results for 2004:
10. Bob Hill - 18 points
12. Mark Lubragge - 17 points

$3 to play, or 2 entries for $5. Winner takes 75 percent, second place earns 25 percent of the total pot. Select one entry from each category. Scoring favors the major awards. Categories are worth one point, unless listed otherwise. The maximum number of points a person can earn is 30. If there are co-winners in an Oscar category, each winner receives full point value. If there is a tie at the end of the ceremony, the answer to the tie breaker question will determine the winner, starting with the name of the movie, followed by the person who guesses closest to the correct number of Oscars that movie won. If the contest is still tied at that point, the pot will be divided among the co-winners equally.
