      Disregard the Q135586 link at the bottom of the MS page, instead if you have TweakUI: 
     Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, then double-click TweakUI.  
     On the Paranoia tab, DO NOT select the Clear Last User At Logon check box. 
     That is not for this purpose.

12. How to Extract Original Compressed Windows Files from CD or Diskette

    OR: go to Start/Run and enter SFC for the System File Checker and have 
    it extract the file.  Windows ME does not have SFC.  Do NOT replace any files
    based on version or size, it's almost impossible to pick the  correct  one and could 
    void any updates you have made. Replace only missing or corrupted files.
    
   OR: Use START/FIND, select Files or Folders and in the Named Box enter *.cab and 
    in the Containing  Text Box enter the name of the file to find. In the Look in Box enter 
    the path to the Win98  folder on the CD. If your CD is D: use D:\win98. This finds the 
    CAB file the file is in.  Double click the CAB file then right click your file and extract. 

    Otherwise use Windows Explorer, select the Win98 folder on the CD then use FIND under 
    the Tools Menu. The Look in Box will automatically be filled in.
