"A popular Government without popular information or the means of acquiring it, is but a Prologue to a Farce or a Tragedy or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own Governors, must arm themselves with the power knowledge gives." James Madison, 1822

*I will provide information to the community about education and the issues it faces.

Education related News

* I will advocate for school reform and financial constraint. My goals

I voted for the 2008-2009 Preliminary Budget. I expect and will advocate for not using the exceptions
that have been applied for to raise taxes above the Act 1 index of 5.6% for SASD for 2008-2009.

I voted against the 2007-2008 preliminary and final budget. I believe we can do a better job
of focusing spending on student core academics achievement.

I proposed administration appeal to the SASD employees for ways to save money in 2007.

1/15/08 - I proposed that the Board make an effort to convert to digital format to eliminate over 9100 photocopies
made per year for board members for meetings. We have moved forward with this change.

* I will increase my knowledge of school related matters. I receive email from the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
I review them for issues impacting education. Daily Session Activity EMails
