At May 9th's monthly Township Supervisor's meeting, a new Nuisance and Junk ordinance was discussed. Attendees, as well as all Township residents, were requested to provide feedback for this ordinance. This propsed new ordinance can be viewed here. We ask that you view this document in it's entirety and call or write the Supervisors with your comments and suggestions pertaining to this ordinance.

We have been having problems throughout the Township with ATV's operating on streets and highways, on private property, and sometimes even in backyards. If you see this happening, please do what you can to identify either the rider(s) or their ATV's. Remember, if you choose to cal 911 they have to notify us. By the time we get the notification and get to your location, the ATV's will be long gone. At this point, if you haven't identified the ATV or the riders, we can do nothing about it. If you can identify the rider(s), or their ATV(s), we can use your information to file citations, without having to actually 'catch' them. But with this in mind, remember that if you call us, you may have to testify in court.

UPDATE . . .
On July 27, 2005, we stopped an ATV on 8th Street in Aristes. This ATV had previously been riding at a high rate of speed along Mid-Valley Highway. The juvenile operator has been issued three citations for various violations.

According to the new Pennsylvania law, and Conyngham Township ordinance, you must have your house number posted on your residence. The reasoning behind this is that if you call the police, fire, or ambulance for help, and you do not have your number posted, help may come too late or never come at all, and you may be fined. Look for the ordinance coming soon to the online ordinance section.

You must now apply for a permit when you start a remodeling job or begin any new construction. Failure to do so may result in fines and penalties. Call this office, or email for details

You can find the Conyngham Township Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Operations Manual online here.
