On the first day of school, the students in 6-Orange created and voted on the rules and responsibilities for our team.  The process went like this:

Students first brainstormed misbehaviors that could happen in school.  Some examples were talking back to teachers, not bringing materials to class, and damaging school property.

Next, the students were responsible for creating a few rules that would prevent all of the misbehaviors on the list.  All students had a vote on the proposed rules.

Last, after doing some brainstorming themselves, the teachers came up with the consequences for breaking the rules.  The results of this collaboration are below:

Responsibilities

I.    Respect Others

II.   Respect All Property

III. Be responsible and prepared for     class

Consequences

1st Offense:  Lunch detention.

2nd Offense:  Lunch detention & letter to your parents / guardians.

3rd Offense Lunch detention & phone call to your parents / guardians.

4th Offense:  Lunch detention & office referral.

**More than four offenses is a lunch detention & office referral.
