A Brief History ...
Nearly 3 years ago, we started
to develop our own sparkless awl tools to support
the pyrotechnics industry in the safer preparation of using electronic
matches,
initiators, and for custom fusing applications.
After an initial release sent to some of the top pyrotechnics users,
suppliers, and supporters,
we took their feedback and went back to make some improvements in the
tool, including
better ergonomics, stronger brass, and a revolutionary custom PyrobolicTM
notched tip.
With these improvements, these sparkless awl tools, more commonly
referred to in the pyro
community as 'pyro pokes', were set to debut for sale the the public.
Being fully hand machined,
sanded, ground, painted, and polished, production was quite limited, but
the demand for our
pyro pokes grew, even leading to a limited run fusing set, developed by
popular demand.
AND NOW, we present our 2nd
generation of pyro pokes!
With further feedback from the pyro community as well as tooling
experts, we have
retained our great features, as well as made some
amazing new improvements.
We are also proudly sponsoring the movie Passfire Maximum Load,
an amazing celebration to so much of the pyrotechnics industry and
celebrations.

Superior Construction ...
All of our pyro pokes and fuse forks are fully hand tooled, machined,
and assembled,
with quality checks being done at each step to best ensure the finest
quality in our products.
Each of our fine, personally crafted tools contains the following most
desirable features:
-
Weather resistant
ergonomic handles (molded plastic mains, and coated wooden
secondaries)
-
Our unique
PyrobolicTM notched tip
on our pyro poke tools, to ease poking and reduce wrist torsion,
working more like a drill-bit to get through tough cardboard and
even plastic with ease
-
Narrowed sides of
our beveled pyro poke fuse forks, to most easily and quickly insert
fuse into poked holes
-
Inset tool sets
where the secondary poke/fork fits within the main poke, reducing
storage space
-
Color-coded
butt-ends of the poke sets to easily identify tool pairs (red for
matching, blue for fusing)
-
Exclusive use of
sparkless C360 brass, known for its strength and resistance to
corrosion
with properties closely resembling that of steel
-
Now using anti-spin
set-pins in every poke and fork tool, to best ensure brass rods
don't come loose
