Seymour and Dinah LaFave Baxter were my great-great-grandparents. They were hard-working, religious people who loved their family.

I am fortunate that they have left behind records of their lives. Their daughter Lena left behind diaries. My great-great uncle Will, the last of Seymour and Dinah's twelve children, maintained everything (and I mean everything!) in the family home in Mexico, New York.
My mother was very interested in genealogy. She would take me and my brothers and sisters to the old family cemeteries in Parish and Mexico, New York, and attempt to explain how we were related to the people whose graves we visited. There were just too many aunts, uncles, cousins.....
In these pages, I've tried to simplify and organize some of the information I have gathered about these people. There are only two generations represented on this site. I hope you'll stop back and hopefully, I'll continue this project.
