Welcome to my 1965 Studebaker Commander Website! I inherited a 1965 Studebaker Commander, and it has been sitting in a garage for the past 17 years. Some friends and I plan to get the Stud back up and running, and I have set up this website just to document our progress. 1965 was the second to the last year that Studebaker was in existence. Studebaker offered four models that year, which were all variations on the same car. The Commander was the basic model of their line of "common sense" cars. Studebaker offered a six-cylinder "Skybolt" 194 cu. in. engine equipped with 120 hp, and an eight-cylinder "Thunderbolt" 283 cu. in. engine that featured 195 hp. Both engines were produced by General Motors as a result of Studebaker's move to Canada in 1965.
