High Carbohydrate, High Protein, Vegetarian and Other Control Diets

Perhaps the single most important subject for discussion in the area of an Autocontrol regimen for Type IIr diabetes is that of diet. It is one of the cornerstones of the lifestyle disciplines which permit control of diabetes without external medicines. Even when oral agents or insulin are required, diet is still critical to attaining and maintaining control of blood glucose levels.

In the Misc.Health.Diabetes Newsgroup, one can trigger an argument of an almost religious intensity by strongly favoring one dietary regimen over another. Since each diabetic is a biologically unique individual, it seems reasonable that some diets will work well for some folks and yet be a dismal failure, or even harmful for others. This item does not take an advocacy position for any of the diets presented, they are merely presented to permit the reader to form his/her own opinion on the validity and advisability of applying it to their own specific needs.

The Vegetarian Diet as applied to the control of diabetes is covered in a website by Virginia Messina. This site is available by using this link to the site.

This site is still under consruction. Please pardon the incomplete state of this item. More material about the High Carbohydrate and High Protein diets will be posted **VERRY** soon.
