March 10: The Reform Lackawanna County Committee in Scranton St Patricks Day Parade.

History: The Reform Party Lackawanna county committee organized in Feb 1993 straight from the "Pennsylvanians for Perot" local chapter. Many former "PFP" committees had a convention in Harrisburg that Spring to organize the Patriot Party of Pennsylvania. In 1996 the state and county organization changed "Patriot" to "Reform" and added Ross Perot for President on the ballot with our other state and local candidates.

We have had a candidate appear on the ballot somewhere in Lackawanna County every year since 1993. Last year we ran C. Nicholas Costa for Mayor of Scranton.

Some skeptics may wonder if the effort is all worthwhile. As long as 2/3 of all state legislators, county row officers, and local municipal officials run for reelection unopposed the promise of a "two-party democracy" is a sad, sad joke and we still have work to do.
