Our chapter's planning group meets to plan future activites on the Third Monday of the month, 7pm at the Lehigh Elementary Library. Contact an officer to get information about attending. Bowling outing on January 26 at the Legion in Bath, 1pm-4pm, $1 a game, Sundaes & Drinks A public "Meet the gifted teacher night" is held early in the school year, late September/early Octoboer, at the Wolf Boro Elementary building, 1677 Lincoln Avenue, Northampton. On March 12, 2002 Attorney Elizabeth Kapo helped us better understand the GIEP (gifted individual eduational program) process - information you need to know in order to have an effective GIEP. A GIEP what? Who should be present at my GIEP? What is appropriate to include in my child's GIEP? What does the law say? Do I have to sign the GIEP if I don't feel our needs are being met? What can/should I do to prepare for my child's GIEP? How can I involve my child in preparing for his/her GIEP? How can we get what we need without feeling guilty or pushy? How can the student be an effective participant at the GIEP meeting?
