Originally I was planning on defining each of the symbols in the I Ching Oracle, but as my research progressed I discovered the best I could do is explain what I Ching is, and recommend some useful books, since I don't have enough web space to fully define the I Ching.
What is I Ching?
The I-Ching, or Book of Changes, is the world's oldest book and earliest known oracle. Based the theory of yin/yang, it is used to derive insights based on natural wisdom. This ancient divination system is approximately 4000 years old. The most common form is that of a book which is referenced by tossing coins or stalks. This oracle is used to produce responses to questions and problems. The I-Ching has 64 "archetypes" and the entire system can be used to explain a complete and balanced set of human situations.
Why use I Ching?
I-Ching can help you make decisions that logic can't handle, reduce stress around changes and decisions, better manage sensitive relationships & office politics, develop superior timing and access creative insight and intuitive power
