In 2000 we were out getting Dog food and stuff, when Raven made a critical mistake.  He LET me go look at the ferrets.  Once I saw all the little squirming bodies wanting to play and doing Baby Ferret 'War Dances', I had to rescue one.  They were FAR too young to be away from their Mothers, and were hardly eating solid food. So, we ended up adopting three of the little guys, My parents got a little Albino, (Tiffany) my brother got another Sable (Amber), and I got a little, gray boy, who looked like a furry old man, so he became Merlin.  He LOVED chasing feet, and blowing bubbles in my Orange Juice.  He had no fear whatsoever, he'd get on the back of a chair, and take a FLYING leap off of it, he landed with a **SPLAT** then got up, shook it off and did it AGAIN, and he'd do that about 5 or 6 times before weaving off to find a place to sleep.  And he had no concept of size, he'd try to tackle Rowan, Bear, LaughingRaven, me...... well... actually..... anything that moves.... He was ever the teacher, and immediately took Tinker, and Arthur under his wing. He constantly tried to get the girls to follow him on a silly escapade..... which usually involved tormenting the Dogs, or the bird.  Though he followed Cracker on his Sock Stealing adventures.

On March 29th, I noticed that he wasn't eating very well and was losing a lot of weight. So I started hand feeding him, and he started to gain weight again.  Everything was fine for a while, then he went down hill, drastically. By the time I realized he should go to the Vet Merlin, sadly, passed away. On April 5th, 2004, we said farewell to an integral part of our Family.
