Another piece of wood given to
me by a fellow turner this hard maple has some burl in it. I wanted to make as large
a bowl as possible to retain most of the burl and this is the shape that emerged.
The bowl measures 12" in diameter and 4" high. Finished with my usual finish, polymerized tung oil and then buffed, it got a little
shinier than I wanted. It sold right away so I must have done something right.
