Fine Woodturning by Tony Manella |
I collected this piece of red
maple last winter, it had been cut down for a new car dealership. While most of
what I took had the beautiful brown streaks from the Ambrosia Beetle, this piece was
just clear wood. I opted to dress it up a bit by using my new woodburning tool
to make some lines on the outside. I then colored the pattern using Prismacolor
markers. I like the result and will be trying similar things on other pieces.
I used my usual tung oil finish which was then buffed using the Beal system.
