#23 Chinese Chestnut Bowl

This is the first piece I ever turned from chestnut. I thought the wood was a little bland and wanted to add some coloring, but the few people I showed it to said they liked it the way it is. The inside of the is back cut under the rim, which makes the shape more interesting. The bowl measures 7½" diameter x 2" high. I used my usual tung oil finish which was then buffed using the Beal system.
