Fine Woodturning by Tony Manella

This is still one of my favorite pieces. I turned this about two years ago. It was the first piece that I received compliments from other turners. A friend had given me the kiln-dried curly maple and I had the wenge in my shop. I wanted to make a bowl from the maple but it was too shallow so I decided to try a glue-up. It turned out (pun intended) much better than I expected. I think the simple graceful curve shows off the curl and the contrast of the woods.
