This red maple bowl was the first
large piece to come off of my new Nova 3000 lathe. Many people call this wood ambrosia
maple because the ambrosia beetle attacks it causing the dark brown to gray streaks
you see in this piece. This was also my first commissioned piece. It was made for
my sister-in-law to give as a wedding present to a good friend.
