Fine Woodturning by Tony Manella |
This is my first wall hanging. It
was a collaborative effort with a friend. It measures about 18" high by 15" wide and is
made of Eucalyptus corrugatta burl from the gold fields of Australia. The eye is satinwood. The rim has
been carved to add some texture. I think this wood is so beautiful that I could have just
hung it up without turning. The back has also been turned but I left some of the chainsaw marks
in the wood. The back also has a small disk of ebony. This one will remain in my personal
collection, hanging on our family room wall.
