Fine Woodturning by Tony Manella

This is my largest hollow form to date. It measures 10" in diameter and 7" high. It was quite a bit of work to remove that much wood but it was worth it. This piece of aspen came from the under side of a crotch in the tree which explains the wild grain pattern. The opening is about 1 1/2" and has a rim made from wenge. I was a little disappointed in the weight of the piece, I left the bottom too thick, but I like the shape.
