Fine Woodturning by Tony Manella |
I am working on a collection of spheres
from all of the woods I have come across, domestic and exotic. Here is the first batch, 17 in all. I have 40
others roughed out waiting to be finished and about another 40 woods that I have on hand.
I like the way a sphere shows off all the different aspects of the grain. The woods shown
are japanese yew, black locust, bigleaf maple burl, piqua amarillo, madrone, american yellowood,
apricot mountain laurel, brazilian cherry, rock maple, african mahogony, black walnut, western
mayall, beefwood, katalox, cherry and american mahogony
