Pastor Herbert Lohr
Bergstrasse welcomes Pastor Herb Lohr
On Sunday, April 25, a congregational meeting was held.
It was a big day for Bergstrasse.
The meeting was to vote on the call for a pastor.
After many long months of preparing the church profile, filling
out the paperwork, interviewing the candidate and checking the
references, the call committee recommended Pastor Herb Lohr to the
council. The council, after
an extensive interview, in turn recommended him to the congregation.
An informal gathering was held on Saturday evening where Pastor
Lohr answered questions and addressed concerns.
Sunday he led the worship service.
Following the worship service, a vote was taken with the
assistance of Barry Herr, a representative from the synod.
After the votes were tallied, the announcement was made that the
congregation approved of his call. Of
the 71 votes taken, he received 64 votes in favor of his call.
We welcome Pastor Herb Lohr and his wife Anne to our
Bergstrasse family and anticipate sharing the life of this church.
We anticipate that he may be taking the position sometime in
July.
There are many to thank for their help in this process.
All those who participated in the vote, those who took part in
the meeting Saturday evening, the council, but especially those who
served on the call committee deserve special thanks.
Once again our gratitude for your efforts, Selma Hainley, Paul
Stec, Bonnie Grater, Larry Lausch and Chad Landis.
Thanks.
