Children’s History Camp at Eckley Miners’ Village

The Eckley Miners’ Village Associates will be hosting their annual Children’s History Camp on July 14, 15, & 16. There will be two sessions to choose from; a morning session which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or the afternoon session which will run from 1:00 to 4:00. History camp is appropriate for ages 6 to 13. There is a fee to attend camp and pre-registration is required. To register for camp, please call 570-636-2070.

This year our history camp will feature new and exciting interactive presentations from guest speakers. As in the past there will be period arts and craft projects, old fashion games, and hands-on projects in the areas of history, science, nature, ecology, and more... Other activities include storytelling, Old World customs and traditions, nineteenth century immigration, anthracite coal mining, and local traditions and folklore.

Eckley is located nine miles east of Hazleton, Luzerne County, just off Route 940. For more information or to register for camp, call 570-636-2070.
