The Liturgical Art Team is a group of artists who gather to create large-scale art that enhances our worship for the liturgical seasons. The Team was formed at the end of a silk painting class where the participants learned to paint on silk and having had such fun doing so painted silk angels to hang in the sanctuary between Christmas Eve and Epiphany. At this time, the Team is working on art for Lent, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. During Lent, we are meeting every Sunday evening at which time we have a short devotion and paint. Our meetings are spirit-filled because as artists we believe our art comes from the Spirit and we are mustering the courage to be open to God's expression through our human hands. Anyone who wishes to be part of the Liturgical Art Team is welcome to do so. A background in art is not required, only a willingness to create. We are all learning and having fun doing so.
