SIGNS OF FAITH SINGERS
(SOFS)

We are a continuation of the Thursday Night Singers since we all belonged to that choir. Our director, Tony Schwartz, left the end of July 2006, to become a pastor and was assigned the Forest City Charge. We were on our own, but decided to continue on singing at the second service. The Sign Language Choir was called “Signs of Faith”, and since we were all in that choir also, we brought the name to the singers to combine them.

We continue to emphasize contemporary Christian music, using performance tracks, and also discovered we could sing acapella (aka Acapulco to our group) in 3-4 part harmony. Occasionally, we use keyboard and guitars depending on what is needed. We are a small group of all ages, and have sung at our combined service and special services. Eventually, we would like to sing at nursing homes, and see where this will lead us.

All are welcome, and we practice Wednesday evenings at 6:30. Come and join us - bring a smile and don’t be afraid to sway!

ANSLEY RINGERS

When Tony left, we also lost our director for 2 bell choirs. We played a few 2-octave bell pieces, and decided this year we had to continue the choir. Although there is no official director, we all do our job, counting and helping one another, and have played 8 times either chimes or bells. The plan now is to expand to our original 3-octave choir soon. We didn’t have enough ringers for Christmas or Easter, so Peter Helfrich (a college student and son of one of our SOFS and ringers) constructed 3 bell towers for us. This allows one player to play up to 4+bells as they hang on the tower by using special mallots. Thanks Peter!!!!!!

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHIMERS/SINGERS

Another SOFS and ringer,Nancy Lukacinsky, helps with the Sunday School music program and some of those children wanted to play chimes (and had been in the Jr. Bell Choir). So Nancy said OK, and has started a Chime Choir which meets after Sunday School in Fellowship Hall. They just played for the first time this Easter, and Nancy has high hopes for them. The Sunday School Singers learn songs that go with that months theme.

In Sunday School, they sing and/or sign the songs as needed.
