Shake, Wiggle, Paint & Pretend
The children’s area of the Little Buffalo Festival of the Arts will offer an enticing variety of participatory and hands-on activities for families of all ages. Bring the little ones to see Lexi Lu & Her Story Time Kritters, a professional puppet company owned by Jody DeMarco, that brings children’s literature alive through the antics of a host of charming characters. Or join Music Together in Susquehanna Valley for a family jam session and sing-along.
Debra Takach will be dressed in authentic clothing for her Native American storytelling and crafts. Lara Vracarich, trained dancer and instructor, will present peaceful dance and drumming activities to get the crowd up and moving. And back by popular demand, Marlene Dum, from Capital Area Head Start, will instruct young and old alike in the fine art of designing and constructing newspaper hats.
There will be face painting, free-style painting, and tables with supplies to make shakers, dancer’s anklets, masks, dream catchers and more. Lexi Lu and company will offer several puppet-making stations followed by opportunities for children to practice their own puppet shows.
The children’s area at this year’s festival will provide a marvelous opportunity to spend a day with your family. All activities are free. All materials are provided. Come and join us while you shake, wiggle, paint and pretend!
