Florida 2002

In January Laurel and I went to Florida. This trip was the culmination of a few things: (1) we've been wanting to do a tour of Florida for a while; (2) Laurel wanted to go this year for her parents' 50th anniversary; and (3) My cousins Eric and Susan were going down at the same time.

For the trip down, we took the train. We got a sleeper car (like your closet, only not as roomy) which was cozy. It's amazing what they can do in that little bit of space. The top bunk was raised during the day to give you head room. The lower bunk converted into two chairs. If you put down the lid over the toilet seat, you had a guest chair. There was also a sink, a TV and a fold-out chess board.

By the way, both EPCOT and Universal had very low attendance and we were able to get on all rides with little or no waiting. The poor economy and World Trade Center attacks have wrecked the travel industry this year.

Speaking of the attacks, our return flight was our first one since the attacks. Except for Laurel having to take her shoes off it was- thankfully- an uneventful flight.

So I'll let you enjoy the pictures by clicking on the thumbnails.
