Imagine if the words you read looked like this. This is what words look like to people who can't decode them. You can help to change that. Think of it for a moment.

This is what your work application, directions to a place or how to do something would look like if you couldn't read.

People come to us for help to be able to improve their reading, writing and math skills. They place their hopes with us and we would like to honor them.

We train volunteers to tutor adult students in basic skills, help them obtain their GED, tutor people in English if it is their second language and help with the citizenship test.  You can help.

You can become a volunteer ProLiteracy Tutor.
Certified ProLiteracy Tutor Trainers with over 50 hours of training certification provide training for the WPALP.

See training information below

Volunteers tutor in both Wayne and Pike Counties, which covers a 1,275 square mile area. We are always looking for more tutors, you don't have to be a teacher to be a volunteer tutor.

Tutors work one-on-one with their adult students.
