Imagine if the words you read looked like this. This is what words look like to people who can't decode them. You can help to change that. Think of it for a moment.

This is what your work application, directions to a place or how to do something would look like if you couldn't read.

People contact us asking for help. They want to be able to improve their lives, they place their hopes with us and we would like to honor them.

We train our volunteer Tutors to help students in basic skills, obtain their GED and tutor people in English if it is their second language.   You can help.

You can become a volunteer ProLiteracy Tutor.
We have Certified ProLiteracy Tutor Trainers with over 50 hours of training certification.

See our schedule below.

We have volunteer tutors in both Wayne and Pike Counties, which covers a 1,275 square mile area. We are always looking for more tutors, you don't have to be a teacher to be a volunteer tutor.

You can e-mail us with your questions and we'll be glad to answer them or call us today for more information. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM

Tutors work one-on-one with their adult students.

This is a confidential program.
We provide all materials free of charge to our students and tutors.

You can make the difference in the life of another.

Imagine having the door to reading opened for you!
